Uncle Beres is Back For His Only UK Show in 2026

Eight years. That’s how long it's been since The King of Lovers Rock Beres Hammond performed on a UK stage. And this year, he’s finally back, and the only place to see him in the UK this year is at City Splash 2026.

Born in the small fishing village of Annotto Bay, Jamaica, Beres Hammond has been one of the greatest voices in reggae music for over five decades & a pioneer of the sound we all love today. He grew up surrounded by music, raised in a household that played a wide variety of genres including mento, ska and soul, all of which shape his musical style.

His journey began in the late 70s as the lead singer of Zap Pow before he stepped out as a solo artist and released his debut album Soul Reggae in 1976. But success didn’t come instantly. It was the 90s that truly cemented his legacy and turned Beres into a household name. Played everywhere you’d go, in parties, weddings, and in the house. You couldn't escape his incredible voice. He later founded his own label, Harmony House, giving him the creative freedom to make music that moves people, the Lovers Rock sound we all know and love.

Loves rock, the subgenre of reggae built on romance and raw emotion, found its perfect soul-driven voice in Beres. He is a true romantic, a true lovers rock singer and few names resonate as deeply with both local and global audiences as his.

From Rockaway to Tempted to Touch, Uncle Beres’ music has built a following that crosses generations and borders, reaching people from Jamaica to London, from the original Lovers Rock fans to the new generation who found his music.

They don’t call him the King of Lovers Rock for nothing. He earned every bit of that title.

Now in its sixth edition, City Splash has become the world’s biggest one-day celebration of Caribbean music, food and culture. We’re once again transforming Brockwell Park into a celebration not worth missing.
